If you’ve held off on purchasing any of the Halo 4 figures or Halo Micro Ops sets released since last fall (and if you have, shame on you), you may in luck–all of my local Target stores have begun a massive clearance sale to clear out all of their Halo toys. This is both good news and bad news… from certain points of view…

It was just a couple days ago that I was sent photography of the McFarlane Toys Halo 4 Series 2 Spartan Scout, and now another prototype from Halo 4 Series 2 has hit the internet–the Jackal Storm! Not only are we lucky enough to have photos of the McFarlane Toys Storm Jackal figure prototype from the upcoming series now, but we also have a chance to own it–the McFarlane Halo 4 Series 2 Storm Jackal figure prototype is up on ebay right now! Is the Jackal Storm figure (or its prototype) looking cool enough to add to your collection?

Well, the bad news keeps on coming for collectors of the McFarlane Halo 4 figure line. Something collectors have been speculating about for over a month now became official today. Retailers are now being informed by McFarlane Toys that the Halo 4 Series 2 Thomas Lasky Action Figure has been cancelled and will no longer ship as part of Halo 4 Series 2 in the fall…

Obviously through some sort of arcane sorcery, McFarlane Toys actually managed to get an entire product series out to retailers before showing off any prototypes of the figures to the public! We saw them today for the first time at the New York 2013 Toy Fair, but a couple days earlier online stores already got in their first shipments of the Halo Avatars Series 2 figures…

Though we’ve been going through a little bit of McFarlane Halo 4 withdrawal the last few months, McFarlane Toys has bounced back to surprise us several times this week! First it was the unannounced reveal of the Gamestop Powerup Rewards Exclusive Halo 4 Spartan Warrior figure, and over the weekend it was the reveal at the New York International Toy Fair 2013 of the number one most fan-demanded figure not yet in the Halo 4 line: The Didact!

Earlier today I discussed the prototypes of McFarlane Toys’ Halo 4 Series action figures, and now I’m back to talk a little bit about the 2013 Halo Micro Ops Series 2 assortment!

Along with the expected release of the “Halo Legends: The Package” three-pack of action figures last week by McFarlane Toys, we also got something unexpected–our first glimpse of the actual prototypes from McFarlane Halo 4 Series 2 and Halo Micro Ops Series 2! Member twgss4b14c  over on the HaloFigures forum already received his “The Package” three-pack in the mail from Amazon, and he was kind enough to give us photos to share of the initial Halo 4 2013 series…

After last week’s dismal news that McFarlane Halo 4 Series 2 was being delayed until fall, Halo figure collectors needed a speck of positive news–and this week we have it. The extremely-anticipated McFarlane Halo Legends The Package 3-Pack of figures including The Master Chief, Kelly-087, and Frederic-104 has now been released and turned up in-stock for sale online!

In some pretty disappointing news, online retailers such as BigBadToyStore are now being informed that the Halo 4 Series 2 action figures by McFarlane Toys have been delayed until September 2013 from their original anticipated shipping date of January 2013.

He’s the big one Halo fans have been waiting all fall for–the McFarlane Toys Halo 4 Knight Deluxe Boxed Action Figure has now been released in the United States! UPDATE: The Halo 4 Knight Deluxe figure is now available from Amazon with free shipping!

Someone must have been working overtime this weekend (and it wasn’t me), because Sunday evening the first official photos and details about the long-awaited McFarlane Toys Halo 4 Knight deluxe action figure were finally posted over on the official McFarlane Toys website! And as it turns out, he’s coming sooner than we thought…!

With the cancellation this fall of Halo Universe Series 1, fans have been on pins and needles worrying about additional McFarlane Halo Toys being cancelled as well. One set that seemed like a primary candidate for cancellation appeared to be the Halo 3 Campaign Co-Op Figures 4-Pack, a set which literally appeared out of the blue on the official McFarlane Toys website without any fanfare whatsoever. With the extremely disappointing cancellation of the McFarlane Toys Halo Universe Series 1 action figures a couple month ago, Halo collectors were afraid that the announced Halo Legends Master Chief, Frederic-104, and Kelly-087 action figure three-pack was going to meet the same fate. We had to wait  disconcerting amount of time to hear any further news on the pack from McFarlane Toys, but it has now been confirmed on the official McFarlane Toys website that the Halo Legends 3-Pack will be released in January 2013 to get the Halo collecting year off to a good start!

It’s raining Spartans, hallelujah. Well, no. Not really. There’s actually only three Spartans in Halo 4 Series 1 Wave 2 by McFarlane Toys, but it’s at least an improvement over the scant two Spartans released in Wave 1. See, Halo figure collectors have been pretty spoiled by McFarlane Toys over the years, sometimes getting well over a dozen Spartan armor and color permutations in earlier series. It’s only been a week since the McFarlane Halo 4 Series 1 Extended 5-Figure Boxed Set became available and the individual figures showed up at online retailers, but now the single-carded Halo 4 Series 1 Wave 2 figures (Cortana, Watcher, Crawler, Spartan Soldier [Blue]) have also appeared at retail stores!
