Exclusive Halo 5 Unhelmeted Locke Figure Up for Order!

This is it, Halo fans! The month that we have all been waiting for for nearly three years now has finally arrived, and the Halo 5: Guardians video game will launch later on this month! As such, Halo merchandising looks to finally be heating up again, with retailers who haven’t taken on exclusives in a long time getting back on-board. And one of those retailers happens to be the largest online retailer in the world! Amazon is back in the game, and they’ve secured one of Halo’s sweetest plums (so to speak) for their very own: the Amazon exclusive McFarlane Halo 5 Unhelmeted Agent Locke is now up for order!

Whereas the visage of the Master Chief’s face has been a secret shrouded in mystery, the same can’t be said for the star of Halo 5: Guardians–Agent Locke, the Spartan who debuted in the Halo Nightfall series! The tough-as-nail, bald Spartan Locke has grown quite a fan following through his appearances in Nightfall and the hype leading up to the release of Halo 5, and fans are ready for a toy with a really great likeness to Jameson Locke!

MEGA Brands released an unhelmeted Spartan Locke figure as a Toys R Us store exclusive figure in the Mega Bloks Halo Smuggler Intercept set that was released this summer, but as that figure is only 2″ tall–and his head is the size of a small gumball–the likeness to Agent Locke isn’t exactly the greatest on that figure.

But now McFarlane Toys is entering the fray, giving us a really terrific likeness of Spartan Locke on this 10″ Deluxe figure! Basically, this is the exact same figure that will be released at retail–but packaged with an un-helmeted Locke head in addition to the helmeted head.

That’s right–this 10″ Halo 5 Locke figure comes with both the helmeted head and the unhelmeted head. That means that if you want the option of displaying Locke with or without his helmet, you will have the option of doing so when you buy the Amazon online version of this action figure. Those who purchase this figure from mass retail will get only the Locke helmet head and not the un-helmeted portrait. Got it? Good.

The MSRP for this figure is going to be $34.99, which is a price that may stop the hearts of those used to only paying $16 for their McFarlane Toys figures. That said, this figure is a limited edition store exclusive–which always drives up the price–as well as twice the size of the typical 5″ figures. Considering Square-Enix charges $90-$100 for their Halo figures in this approximate scale, I can be okay with paying $35 for this sweet-looking Locke toy.

The 10″ Deluxe Unhelmeted Spartan Locke Amazon Exclusive Halo 5 figure is now up for order, and is scheduled to ship out on October 24th, 2015. And yes, that date is in fact later this month–the figure is scheduled to be released three days before the launch of the Halo 5 Guardians video game, so you should have him in-hand in time to act out hunting down the Master Chief with him along with the game!
