Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Elephant Troop Carrier 97381 Photos!

It’s taken a little while to get there, but I’m almost at the end of my Halo Mega Bloks coverage from last month’s New York Toy Fair 2014 event! While there’s still a sprinkling of minor sets such as new weapons packs, combat units and drop pods to discuss, there’s just one major Halo Mega Bloks Summer 2014 set left to discuss–and it’s the biggest set of the year (that isn’t named “Covenant Scarab”): the all-new, redesigned Mega Bloks Halo UNSC Elephant Troop Carrier 97381!

Mega Bloks Halo Toy Fair 2014 UNSC Elephant Troop Transport Summer 2014 Set

I began my coverage of the Halo Mega Bloks Toy Fair 2014 sets with a Halo Wars set–my beloved Flame Warthog–so it’s only fitting that I conclude with another Halo Wars Mega Bloks set.

The 2011 Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Elephant set tended to warm shelves and ended up being clearances out from many retailers at half-price, so I truly didn’t think we’d ever see another UNSC Elephant Mega Bloks set at retail.

Halo Mega Bloks 2014 UNSC Elephant BoxWell, not only is the UNSC Elephant returning to stores, but it’s doing so in the form of a completely redesigned form! Whereas the original Mega Bloks Elephant was based on the Elephant’s appearance in Halo 3, the new and improved Halo Mega Bloks 2014 UNSC Elephant Troop Transport 97381 is the Halo Wars version, based on my personal favorite Halo game.

Halo Mega Bloks Carter Figure from 97341 UNSC Elephant SetIf the theme of the MEGA Brands booth for New York Toy Fair was “things I never thought I’d see made”, we can add three more to the list with this Mega Bloks Halo Elephant Troop Transport set: figures of Carter, Jun and Serina!

Halo Wars Mega Bloks Serina A.I. Figure from UNSC Elephant Mega Bloks SetFor those who don’t recall Halo Wars (or who didn’t play it–shame on you), Serina is the main A.I. featured in the game. The new Summer 2014 UNSC Elephant Mega Bloks set will include the first-ever Serina A.I. figure, in the form of a translucent figurine on a holographic table.

Halo Mega Bloks Jun and Carter Figures Noble Squad Spartans

Far more exciting for most fans, however, are the final two members of the Halo Reach Noble Squad: Halo Mega Bloks Jun and Carter! Along with the Emile figure also being released in the summer, we’ll finally have all six Noble Squad members in Halo Mega Bloks action figure form!

And because these three are debuting in the summer, all of them will feature the new, super-poseable figure bodies. Thanks MEGA Brands!

Rear Compartment of Mega Bloks Halo Elephant Troop Transport 2014Along with a giant cannon and winch, the back of the Halo Mega Bloks Summer 2014 UNSC Elephant can be opened to reveal (of course) a troop bay full of seats for your valiant UNSC soldiers to cruise into battle in.

Halo Mega Bloks Elephant 2014 Troop Transport SetI’m never a fan of Commander Carter, but even I have to admit that he looks pretty slick and deadly operating the giant cannon atop the new UNSC Elephant Troop Carrier!

97341 Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Elephant Troop TransportOf all the items I saw at the 2014 Toy Fair last month, the new Halo Mega Bloks 2014 Elephant is unfortunately the single set that I regret taking the worst photos of.

UNSC Elephant Halo Mega Bloks 2014 Troop BayThe set was on display at the very back of the table of Summer 2014 Halo Mega Bloks sets, with the boxes sample on the top shelf of the MEGA Brands booth, making this the hardest set of all to photograph at the show. As a result, these aren’t my greatest photos ever. My apologies!

New York Toy Fair 2014 UNSC Elephant Troop Transport Halo Mega Bloks SetThe Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Elephant Troop Carrier 97381 is scheduled to be released in August 2014 at a retail price of $99.99. I’ll post links to pre-order the new Elephant set as soon as it becomes available, and you can ‘Like’ Halo Toy News on Facebook to have more news, photos and reviews sent directly to your Facebook Newsfeed!

  1. I’m certainly looking forward to this! Never did get a chance to buy the older elephant, and I do like this design alot more.

  2. Hum, I regret the seats on the troop bay are the simple black version. Moreover, I am sad that they use a single pin to attach figs, i was hoping a better system

  3. well megabloks certainly knows how to get my money – 2 noble team members! thats just unfair to my wallet. i was recently looking at buying the old elephant, lucky i didnt this one is way better

but is it just me or do those figures look bigger than normal (especially carter), they just seem different but im not quite sure.

  4. Definitely getting this. It seems like Mega has decided to do at least one Halo Wars exclusive vehicle per year now. Which is awesome. Another awesome thing? That marine officer looks like it could be Avery Johnson (or at least Pete Stacker).

      • Me too. But since mega bloks didn’t say it was Johnson, (And they are naming the figures now) I’m going guess that it isn’t. But until they make one that actually is … I’m going to pretend that it is. The same way we pretend that the Air Assault Spartan from the Falcon set is Kat, even though there is no robotic arm.

        • My first thought as well. However, if you look at the box cover they are calling Carter and Jun “Spartan commander” and “Spartan scout” respectively. I think it’s because the box is still a prototype, so names may be coming soon, including the marine officer’s.

          • Good point. But if they do name the marine officer Avery Johnson, I’ll have to believe it’s an afterthought because they didn’t name him at toy fair.

  5. Well… I just don’t get it… Why are the new, super-poseable figs taller than the older figs?

    • look at the comments above. they have the new Call Of duty style joints and height i personally own some, and the are taller than the old halo figs

    • There is no height difference between the super-posable figures and the older ones. The only part that is changing is the arm articulation and the armour.

  6. This is a definite improvement over the old Elephant (which is a right P.I.T.A.), and I looks forward to getting it. That said, I do still like the old one and I’m glad I got it.

Hope the new figures are that much taller than the old ones. If so, Noble Team is gonna have a problem.

    • P.I.T.A.? And why would you want the figures to be taller? I’m just gonna shove my new figures in with the old army!

      • Whoops. Tiny typo. It’s supposed be “aren’t that much taller”. And thankfully they aren’t. And P.I.T.A stands for pain in the a$$.

  7. Dang it, Mega, dang it! You’re already going to murder my wallet with the scarab, can’t you leave it at that? If I buy both, my wallet dies twice. If I buy only one, the choice kills me instead!

  8. I really thought the older elephant wasn’t that cool, but tis one looks fantastic especially because it has carter and jun. I will surely will be buying this set when it comes out

  9. Its been over a week Dabid! Wheres the next post! I crave for more! MMMMOOOORRRREEEE!!!

  10. It’s pretty sweet that we’re seeing a halo wars elephant but I would love to see forerunner structures like citadels in a 2015 line up

  11. Can’t wait for this set, I missed out on the last elephant and was looking into getting it off ebay but seeing this, I think I’ll just wait now and get this alongside the scarab if my wallet allows me. Also it’s been ten days since the last news, come on I need my fix! D:

  12. This set is frikin’ awesome! The newer version of the older Elephant is fantastic, and one of the best features of this set is that it officially includes 2 members of the Noble Team: Carter and Jun! Now I hope they make a set including a somewhat remake of Halo Reach last mission: Lone Wolf, starring Noble Six fighting Covenant forces in a destroyed environmet just like that mission. It’ll be a really cool set.

  13. This elephant isn’t the halo wars version while it has one character from halo wars (The AI) it is in fact the Elephant from Spartan Assault – hence the heavy armament and Halo 4 style marines. The Halo Wars elephant was completely enclosed like this but it didn’t have the big cannons on top

    • According to the MEGA Brands representatives at Toy Fair 2014, this is intended to be the Halo Wars Elephant. It may have extra features from Spartan Assault, but officially it is the Halo Wars UNSC Elephant.

      • They can call it anything officially but that doesnt mean they got the right game. also I’m just stating its clearly Spartan Assault especially since it has 6 treads instead of the typical 8, Halo 4 marines, Spartan Assault armament – definitely spartan assault

        • The auto cannon is an upgrade, (Dabid, you should know this! :P) this is the Wars elephant, they have already made a super-pose-able H4 marine, so it saves money (for them and us) to use the H4 Marine mold.

          • No it isn’t the halo wars elephant it is spartan assualt one main difference is the tracks there’s 6 instead of the 8 as seen on the halo wars and halo 3 elephants. Also it looks a lot closer to spartan assault.

  14. hey ADH actually halo spartan assualt elephant cannon was about the size grizzles in width plus the barrels are to small to be the cannon on the elephant on halo spartan assult

    • Hey nancyann actually play spartan assault will you before commenting on barrel size, the barrels on this are correct for both games but the treads are only accurate for spartan assault. Also if the cannons are the size of grizzly cannons in spartan assault what do you think they used on the halo wars one? It would either be the scorpion or grizzly cannons! Accept the fact it’s from spartan assault and check facts before trying to claim its not the spartan assault elephant

  15. I have played both Halo Wars and Halo Spartan Assault and I have seen very good images of both elephants. This is definitely the one from Halo Wars. Also they said at Toy Fair 2014 that it is the elephant from Halo Wars. So don’t argue with the facts ADH.

    • I suggest getting your eyes tested then – THIS IS SPARTAN ASSAULT ELEPHANT NOT HALO WARS: 1) 6 treads NOT 4 (Halo wars only has 4) 2) Halo 4/Spartan assault UNSC logo(If it was halo wars it would use Pre-Halo 4 logos) 3) Halo 4 Marines (if this is halo wars then why not use the old halo wars marines?) IT IS SPARTAN ASSAULT – EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO CONTINUE TO ARGUE THIS PLAY BOTH OF THE GAMES OR GET YOUR EYES CHECKED

      • Chill ADH, there’s no need to get into an internet fight over this. The Halo 4 Marines were probably added to save MEGA Brands money on creating a new mold for the super-poseable version of the Halo Wars Marines.

Everyone who says that it’s either a Spartan Assault Elephant or a Halo Wars Elephant has valid points and is correct! It turns out that this model appeared in BOTH games (Wars and Assault). Source below.

        Hope this clears things up.
