2014 Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Weapons Pack II 97207 Revealed & Photos!

Earlier today I discussed three of the four known upcoming Halo Mega Bloks 2014 sets, but I wanted to hold out on talking about the fourth until I had a bit more time. It’s actually the smallest of the four sets, but there’s the most to talk about because it’s the first 2014 Halo Mega Bloks set that we’ve had the pleasure of seeing both packaged and loose! Coming in January 2014, it’s the Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Weapons Pack II 97207!

These little Mega Bloks Halo weapons packs have become a real staple of the Halo line over the last few years, and despite their small size, are some of my favorite sets to pick up. The Halo figures included with the set are almost always really nice figures that are worth army-building, but more importantly, the sets are the best way of accumulating copious amounts of weapons with paint deco!

Yes, you get plenty of Halo guns with the various sets that come out each year, but the small $5-$7 weapon packs are consistently the cheapest and most effective way of outfitting your armies with good-looking, painted guns that aren’t just plain black or grey.

97207 Mega Bloks Halo Box Back UNSC Weapons Pack IINext year’s Mega Bloks Halo 97207 Weapons Pack II is no exception–in fact, it really might be my favorite Weapons Pack/Armory pack-type set ever! You get a little piece of terrain as usual, along with a turret and some sandbags. But the real prize here is actually the figure and his handheld weapons!

Mega Bloks Halo 2014 Halo 4 UNSC Marine Infantry Figure with Weapons Pack IIJust when you think MEGA Brands has mined all of the best UNSC Marine designs and produced them as Halo action figures, they pop out a beauty like this! This closed-mask Marine is one of the different types of Halo 4 UNSC Marine Infantry soldiers, and easily one of the coolest-looking Marines that MEGA Brands has ever done.

This UNSC Marine figure looks absolutely hardcore, and you can tell that MEGA put a lot of money into the paint apps for this figure–I count 6 different paint colors on the UNSC Weapons Pack II Marine, which makes it one of the more detailed Halo Mega Bloks figures ever made. The Spartans and ODSTs are probably going to be pretty jealous of this guy!

2014 Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Weapons Pack II Set ContentsThe 97207 Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Weapons Pack II is one fully-loaded set. I can’t believe you get four guns in addition to the turret, figure, backpack and sandbags! The M45 Shotgun (the Halo: Reach Shotgun) is new for 2014, and we don’t get the Grenade Launcher as frequently as other weapons.

The big excitement here, of course, is that the DMR and Assault Rifle are the first Halo toy guns produced by any company to feature weapon skins! I’m sure one of the great readers of this blog who have played hundreds of hours of Halo 4 multiplayer (as opposed to my 0.0 minutes) can chime in here with the exact names for the weapons skins on the Assault Rifle and DMR included with this set. Readers?

Halo Mega Bloks Weapons Pack II with UNSC Marine 97207 Winter 2014 SetOverall, the Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Weapons Pack II 97207 is pretty clearly going to be an awesome set and easily the best Weapons Pack/Ammo Pack-type of release ever by MEGA Brands. You can ‘Like’ Halo Toy News on Facebook to have future Halo figures news, photos and updates sent straight to your Facebook Newsfeed. And thanks again to Vanocean for giving us permission to run these photos of the set he purchased overseas!

Thoughts on the Halo Mega Bloks 97207 UNSC Weapons Pack II, Halo collectors? Is there enough “new” here to get your blood pumping, or are you not quite sold on the Halo Mega Bloks 2014 sets lineup just yet?

  3. what i would really like to see is another brute weapons pack so i can get some more brute weapons. it could have a brute shot, mauler, red plasma rifle, spiker (maybe a gravity hammer) and the figure could be a tracker, jump pack brute or even a chieftain.
i would buy a bunch to boost the numbers in my brute army
