I said long ago that I had no interest in picking up an XBox One until Halo came to the system, and I stayed true to my word. But with the Halo Master Chief Collection game hitting stores next week, I finally decided to go pick up my limited-edition white XBox One bundle today. On my trip into town to pick up my XBox console, I stopped at Toys R Us on a whim. While there, my eyes lit up to finally see something I’d waited my entire Halo collecting life for: the Signature Series Halo Mega Bloks Covenant Scarab 97964 has now been released!

Earlier this month, MEGA Brands announced that the special Halo Mega Bloks Ultimate Battle Collector Pack 97390 would be coming to Target stores “soon”. Well, at the time we weren’t sure exactly just how soon “soon” was… but we sure do know now! From announcement to store shelves in under two weeks, one of the final Halo Mega Bloks sets of 2014 has arrived: the Halo Mega Bloks 97390 Ultimate Battle Collector Pack has now been released in stores!

Considering all of the top-tier characters and vehicles being released in the Summer/Fall 2014 Halo Mega Bloks sets, it might surprise some people to hear that one of the hottest and hardest-to-find sets at retail is also among the smallest and cheapest. I finally ordered the Halo Mega Bloks UNSC All-Terrain Mongoose 97339 set online after missing it in stores for weeks. Of course, the biggest selling-point of this set isn’t the Mongoose–we’ve got loads of those. No, this set is hot because it comes with the first-ever Mega Bloks Halo Emile figure! Does Emile make it worth buying yet another Mega Bloks Mongoose?

Halo 3: ODST is easily my favorite of the first-person shooter Halo video games, and the only one that I still play through regularly today. That’s why I’m doubly ashamed that when I walked into the MEGA Brands booth at the New York Toy Fair 2014 and saw the Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Wombat on display, I had no idea what it was. Yes, I know what the Halo Wombat looks like, but I just never imagined MEGA Brands would make a toy of it.
