Halo collectors wanting more high-end items for their collections are in luck–the long-awaited Halo 1/6 scale line of figures by ThreeA Toys finally kicks off this week, beginning with pre-orders opening for the first figure in the line: the leader of Noble Squad, Commander Carter! Designated Noble-1, Carter is in command of the group of Spartans the player is a part of in 2010’s “Halo Reach” X-Box video game.

I was initially a little bit surprised to see the Halo line kick off with a figure that wasn’t the Master Chief, but if more Noble Squad Spartans are coming, what better place to start than Noble Squad’s leader? The level of sculpting and paint deco on this figure is pretty breathtaking, as there are infinitely more opportunities for intricate details on a figure that’s over a foot tall than on a McFarlane Toys 5″ figure.

Carter comes equipped with an insane amount of weapons and special features, far beyond anything we’ve ever seen in a Halo figure line before.  Some of the most notable aspects of the figure include the fiber-optic illuminated helmet and combat armor, magnetized shoulder shields and rear pouch that all weapons can be attached to, fully-articulated fingers, and the rubberized Spartan suit over a fully-articulated body with complete outer armor attachments.

Carter’s weapon loadout includes a M392 DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle), two M9 HE-DP APG Frag Grenades, and a combat knife with working sheath.

As much as I’m enamored with the McFarlane Toys and Mega Bloks Halo lines, this line of figures by ThreeA looks like it’s going to be on a whole other level of quality and authenticity. ThreeA is famous for making spectacular high-end collectibles, and Carter looks to be a fantastic figure to start off the line.

The Commander Carter 13.5″ figure is scheduled to be released in 4th Quarter 2012 and has a retail price of $219.95, although many online retailers are offering a discount on the figure.
