Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Infinity Armor Bay 97262 2014 Set Revealed!

Congratulations to the UNSC Infinity Armor Bay, the one of the Halo Mega Bloks 2014 sets to manage to go the longest without being leaked onto the Internet! The first photos of the set have been posted from BA Toys, who, as promised, now have the Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Infinity Armor Bay and Covenant Ghost sets in-stock and ready to ship! Read on for my thoughts on the final one of the Winter 2014 Halo Mega Bloks sets, the UNSC Infinity Armor Bay 97262…

2014 Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Infinity Armor Bay 97262 Box

At long last we get to see the much talked-about Mega Bloks Halo UNSC Infinity Armor Bay! With there being an overall lack of large sets in the Halo Mega Bloks 2014 winter sets wave, this particular set ends up being the largest and theoretically most interesting of the new sets.

At a glance, I would say that this set looks… okay. For a set that’s going to sell in most stores for around $25 and which only contains 189 pieces, there’s just not that much that can be done to build an elaborate armor bay. That said, I do rather like the ramp leading up to the platform and the ring that equips the Spartan armor. The little blue translucent blocks that act as “lights” look really nice in the photo, and I’m hoping they’ll look as good on the actual set.

Mega Bloks Recon Spartan Figure from Halo Mega Bloks 97016 One of the big draws of this set is that the Red Recon Spartan figure (based on the Halo 4 Recon Spartan armor permutation and not the old mold shown above, by the way) features an exclusive armor skin. Unfortunately, I’m not well-versed enough in the different Halo 4 multiplayer Spartan skins out there to identify exactly what design is on this Spartan Recon figure from the small box photo available. Any of the Halo 4 multiplayer experts out there want to take a stab at this one?

Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Technician FigureThere’s only two Mega Bloks Halo figures included with the set: a UNSC Technician figure and the aforementioned new version of the Recon Spartan (red). The Technician is a bit boring, but I definitely appreciate the new and improved red Spartan Recon figure. It’s a shame that all of the guns included with the set are so common, though (Battle Rifle, Shotgun, Assault Rifle, SMG, LMG).

Now that you’ve seen it, what do you think of the Mega Bloks Halo UNSC Infinity Armor Bay 97262 set, Halo collectors? Will you be building this new set this winter, or does the non-combat oriented Armor Bay leave you uninterested?

  1. It is a must have in my collection. It would be a nice shelf piece. The Spartan is definitely the best part. Very excited

  2. The Shotgun is the new and improved Halo reach design.
To Put it one way… yeah… nah.
probably Buy the ghost before the Armour bay.
While I Do admit it does look pretty cool, it’s at the Bottom of my Want list of all the Spring 2014 sets.

  3. I’m glad there is another way to get a red recon sparen. This will be easier then having to drop 40-50$ to get one in a set at my local Walmart.

  4. I have to admit, I was super excited for this set and now that I see it I feel the set piece could have been more inspired. That said, I’m still going to pick up a ton to army build technicians. Armies are more than just troops after all.

  5. This is a yes for me.
Symon Six on the Bloks Forum got one, with “Review in progress”. Looks like more details soon.

  6. I liked this set although I wish there had been a ladder or set of stairs leading up to the control room.

  7. Its Recon [SURG] and I’m getting it, it’ll be really cool with the interchangable armor sets, and if we ever get a Miller look-alike, I can use the technician head.
