Halo Mega Bloks 2015 Covenant Empire Drone Attack 97511 Set!

Over the years, MEGA Brands has given us hundreds of figures of the Covenant alien races–far more than any other toy manufacturer ever has (and likely ever will). But two major races of the Covenant have been absent from the line–at least, up until now! While my beloved Huragok Engineers haven’t been announced just yet, their much more numerous (and far less intelligent) comrades have: the Halo Mega Bloks Drones figures will debut in the Halo Mega Bloks 2015 Covenant Empire Drone Attack 97511 set!

2015 Mega Bloks Halo Drone Figure

There hasn’t been much worth talking about going on in the Halo collecting world for the past month or so, but finally some big news has surfaced: One of the final two missing Covenant species is finally coming to the Mega Bloks Halo Universe in 2015!

No, it’s not the Halo Mega Bloks Engineers that I’ve been crying out for for the past few years (I’m sure that MEGA Brands has the Engineers on-track for 2015 as well. Right, guys?!). No, it’s the perhaps the most reviled of all in-game Covenant species: the Yanme’e Covenant Drones!

2015 Halo Mega Bloks Covenant Empire Drone Attack 97511Entertainment Earth briefly posted a pre-order for a 2015 Halo Mega Bloks Covenant Empire Drone Attack 97511 set months ago, and it appears that we’re finally seeing exactly what that set will contain!

While the image is still blurred out, we can clearly see that Halo Mega Bloks 97511 will contain a Halo Reach-style truck, two Halo Mega Bloks Drones figures, an official Halo Mega Bloks Jorge figure, and what is likely to be (but not certain to be) an official Halo Mega Bloks Kat figure.

MEGA Brands hasn’t stepped forward yet to confirm this set, but with the set name already known and this image leaked so close to its release, this is all but certain to be the actual Halo Mega Bloks Covenant Empire Drone Attack set due out in winter 2015.

Halo Mega Bloks 2015 Covenant Empire Drone Attack 97511 SetThe 97511 Halo Mega Bloks Covenant Empire Drone Attack set is scheduled for release in January 2015, although we may see the set released in small quantities in December 2014 if we’re especially lucky. I’ll post an update once MEGA Brands officially confirms the Mega Bloks Halo Covenant Empire Drone Attack set, and you can ‘Like’ Halo Toy News on Facebook to have news and updates sent right to your Facebook Newsfeed.

What do you think about the Halo Covenant Yanme’e Drones Mega Bloks figures finally coming out in 2015, Halo collectors? Do you feel compelled to army-build the most annoying race in the Covenant to fight against, or do figures of the insectoid Drones just not appeal to you?

Halo Mega Bloks 2015 Covenant Empire Drone Attack 97511 Set! — 10 Comments

  1. And I just bought a Spade set which has the “Not Jorge” minifig included because of said minifig….

    *looks down sheepishly*

I cannot wait for this set to be available. I’m after the official Kat and official Jorge figures as well as the cool drones. The truck I’ll use for parts.

Now, if only I can get those Carter and Jun figs from the Elephant set without getting that Elephant….

    • Keep your head up cause your not the only one! Lol, though Mega Bloks did kinda hurt us with the “Not Jorge” in UNSC Spade vs. Covenant Skirmisher, the “Not Kat” in the UNSC Falcon with Landing Pad, and the “Not Noble Six” in UNSC Sabre with Gantry sets, but with the release of the Mongoose with Emile and Elephant with Carter and Jun Mega Bloks is saying sorry to all loyal fans/customers. No doubt we’ll be getting official Kat and Jorge next year, and more than likely an official Noble Six too.

  2. Come on, where’s the elites with the new armor system!!! That’s what I’m waiting for. But still getting some drones will be a mighty piece of my covy collection.

  3. I’m so happy. I was the first person to find this picture and post it on Instagram, and it has spread like wild fire. Believe me or not, I did. Also, a new post 😀 You could be doing some reveiws of the new sets or something similar, though.

  4. Glad to see were getting Yanme’e to add to the Covenant, and by the looks of it we’re getting the Halo 3:ODST design rather than the Reach’s, which will go well with all the different colors Mega Bloks releases like pink, orange, cyan, etc. although I would prefer Reach’s due to their only being three colors/ranks versus ODST’s five or eight I don’t remember…..I bet the administrators at Halopedia are still debating the Yanme’e rank issue till this day. If this set comes out and is less than $30 or $25 I would definitely army build the Tan Yanme’e and sell off the Spartans.

  5. I must say im impressed, More Halo sets so soon? if only this was released end of December/ Christmas then plenty of people would buy as a stocking stuffer also while all eyes are focused on the drones (of course) I cant help but notice the truck, it is beautiful in its utilitarian/ traxus look I sure hope this is the final design and the truck will be mostly the same, finally if its in the 20.00- 25.00 range I would call it fair.. oh the truck so rugged and militaristic (homer Simpson drool)….
