Halo 4 Didact McFarlane Deluxe Figure Debuts at Toy Fair 2013!

Though we’ve been going through a little bit of McFarlane Halo 4 withdrawal the last few months, McFarlane Toys has bounced back to surprise us several times this week! First it was the unannounced reveal of the Gamestop Powerup Rewards Exclusive Halo 4 Spartan Warrior figure, and over the weekend it was the reveal at the New York International Toy Fair 2013 of the number one most fan-demanded figure not yet in the Halo 4 line: The Didact!

Halo 4 Deluxe Didact Figure Prototype McFarlane Toy Fair 2013While I was out sick on Sunday, I received a couple dozen E-Mails from great readers alerting me that the McFarlane Didact prototype had been announced and revealed on the Halo Waypoint website. But while The Didact was being shown off over there yesterday, attendees to the 2013 New York Toy Fair were able to see the first publicly-shown prototype of The Didact in person!

Toy Fair 2013 Halo 4 The Didact Figure Prototype Close-Up McFarlane Toys As anticipated, the Halo 4 Didact action figure is going to be the next entry in the McFarlane Halo 4 deluxe figure assortment. There was always a slight possibility that McFarlane Toys might try to scale him down and shove him onto a regular Halo 4 action figure cardback, but any fears about that can now be abated. The Didact figure is positively massive and intimidating chunk of plastic, just as he should be!

Didact Halo 4 McFarlane Deluxe Action Figure 2013One thing that fans at the New York Toy Fair 2013 got to see that wasn’t shown off on Halo Waypoint first was the alternate head for The Didact deluxe action figure! As cool as the armored-up look for The Didact is, I’m a big fan of the creepy, organic Forerunner face of The Didact, and am thrilled that you get that head with this deluxe Halo 4 figure! It’s unknown at this time if The Didact will come with any other accessories.

Halo 4 Didact Figure Photos 2013 McFarlane ToysRemember–these photos are of an early prototype of The Didact action figure by McFarlane Toys that was likely rushed to shown off at the 2013 Toy Fair, so it’s possible that the articulation and paint deco will be improved in time for the final production version of the figure in the fall. And even if the figure is released looking as it does at the show with no improvements, it’s still going to be spectacular.

McFarlane Halo 4 The Didact with Unmasked Head FigureThe McFarlane Halo 4 Didact deluxe action figure is scheduled to be released in September alongside the rest of McFarlane Toys Halo 4 Series 2, with an expected price of $24.99-$27.99.

  1. Awesome! I like how they have a second head instead of releasing two versions. On the Halo Waypoint website they didn’t show Captain Lasky, is he still coming in series 2?

    • I still think Lasky will be out with the rest of Series 2–I suspect they just weren’t paying that much attention over on Waypoint. I don’t get the feeling that the people running Waypoint particularly *care* about the toys, unfortunately.

  2. I can’t wait to get one! He looks so cool but those early prototype photos make him kind of look like Predator lol

  3. this figure of the didact calls for light piping in the orange areas it would look cool lit up

  4. I my god i’ve been waiting for this moment for years!!!!! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
