Now that I’ve had my Halo Wars fanboy moment and taken the time to discuss the Halo Wars Flame Warthog, I can move on and discuss the set that I know absolutely every Halo collector is dying to see as many photos as possible of–the just-unveiled at New York Toy Fair 2014 upcoming Halo Mega Bloks Signature Series Covenant Scarab! Fans have been asking for a Mega Bloks Scarab for years, so this set has a lot of expectations to live up to. Thankfully, the Halo Mega Bloks Scarab not only meets those expectations–it exceeds them!

As I walked into the Halo Mega Bloks portion of the MEGA Brands booth at the 2014 New York Toy Fair yesterday, my eyes immediately flickered from the huge display of Halo Mega Bloks sets on the wall to a large glass showcase on the opposing wall. Seeing the enormous mass of purple bricks, I knew that it could be only one thing–the fabled, long-awaited Mega Bloks Halo Covenant Scarab set.

When you look at the size of the figures standing next to the Signature Series Scarab Mega Bloks set, you really start to get an idea of the sheer immensity of this monster of a Mega Bloks set! Though there’s no official piece count yet, I would be surprised if this set doesn’t stand tall as the single largest Halo Mega Bloks set ever produced once all is said and done. I’ve no idea where I’m going to put this beast of a set, but I know for absolute certain that it will be mine.

The Mega Bloks Halo Scarab set has been designed with collectors in mind–it’s going to be a straight-up build without any gimmicks or action features. MEGA Brands wanted to make sure that this sure-to-be-legendary set is the highest quality possible, so they focused on size, authentic design and the ability for the Scarab to stand unassisted without any kind of extra supports.

Not only is the Covenant Scarab Mega Bloks vehicle itself incredible, but it comes with some Halo figures Mega Bloks fans have been asking for since the start of the line. The headliner is, of course, the first-ever Halo Mega Bloks Prophet figure–the Prophet of Truth! Fans have been asking for Halo Mega Bloks Prophets figures for years, but it’s one of those things I never thought would come to fruition. But lo and behold, here’s the first one! (Can we have Huragok Engineers now, MEGA? Please?)

In addition to the Halo Prophet of Truth Mega Bloks action figure, the set will also include four other figures: a Master Chief, two Mega Bloks Honor Guard Brute figures and what I think is a Jackal Sniper figure. This is an amazing selection of Halo action figures that definitely makes this set feel special.

Perhaps the most-demanded Halo Mega Bloks set ever, the Mega Bloks Halo Signature Series Covenant Scarab set is expected to be released in late fall 2014 (after the rest of the Halo Mega Bloks Summer 2014 set has already hit stores). There is no confirmed piece count or price available for the set at this time, but it is expected to be a Toys R Us exclusive (the same as the previously-released Halo Mega Bloks Signature Series Forward Unto Dawn and UNSC Mammoth sets).
