Mega Bloks Halo Signature Series UNSC Mammoth Price Confirmed

Remember that Halo Mega Bloks Signature Series UNSC Mammoth 97174 set that news (and a mockup photo) leaked of several months ago? Well… it’s still not out. But the good news is, it looks like it will be arriving sooner than later! As part of their newest aisle reset, Toys R Us stores have reserved shelf space for the Mega Bloks Halo Mammoth yet, confirming both that the set should be arriving in the near future and also its official price-point of $179.99…

Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Mammoth Price Tag at Toys R Us

Did you forget about this year’s largest and most expensive new Halo Mega Bloks 2013 set? No? Me neither. News has been pretty scarce regarding the Mega Bloks Mammoth, but I expect that’s because MEGA Brands is waiting to do a grand unveiling of the set in the same manner as last year’s blockbuster Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Forward Unto Dawn set.

The most likely scenario is that the UNSC Mammoth Halo 4 Mega Bloks set is already either in the final stages of production overseas, or perhaps it’s even already on the boats over to the United States right now! Either way, Toys R Us must have been told to expect the Halo Mammoth Mega Bloks 97174 sets to arrive before the next time they reset their aisles, otherwise they wouldn’t have already allocated an immense amount of shelf space for the Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Mammoth in their stores, which confirms the rumored price point of $179.99 for the Mammoth.

Halo Mega Bloks Signature Series UNSC Mammoth 97174 Set BoxIt’s still unknown exactly what Mega Bloks Halo figures will be included with the UNSC Mammoth 97174, but the prototype box art features six figures, and I feel comfortable assuming that that’s the number of figures that will actually be included with the set.

I’ll update with the official photos and/or video of the Signature Series Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Mammoth set once MEGA Brands releases that information, and you can ‘Like’ Halo Toy News on Facebook to have news, photos and updates sent straight to your Facebook Newsfeed. I’d be very surprised if we didn’t hear all the details about the Mammoth by the end of September 2013, but I suppose time will tell…

  1. Awesome! I was going to take out a second mortgage anyway so I will definitely pick this up.

  2. You know, alot of these summer 2013 sets weigh the odds in the UNSC’s favor. it’s getting hard to find quality covenant sets to army build with. But the mammoth just blows away all the covenant sets, and i’m willing to forget all about the lack of these just to stare in awe of the mammoth. i definently wont be buying this, but it’s nice to just look

  3. It’s cool to see that this is still on the way. It’s not something I’ll get, as I’m not really a MegaBloks collector, but I still think it’s cool that they’re making it. If I were to get a big Halo set, I would hunt down an Infinity. What I’m really hoping to see come from them is a Broadsword. That would be a must-have for me, since I doubt any other Halo licenser is ever going to release a Broadsword.

Thinking about the possibility of future sets of this magnitude, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them do a War Sphinx. That said, I kinda hope they produce a Halo construct set utilizing the same number of pieces one of these large sets typically use. Wouldn’t need any minifigures to go along with it, but it would be pretty sweet to see.

  5. I really like the mammoth but I’m not going to get because it would just destroy my covenant people and vehicles I would really like to see them make a scarab or any other covenant vehicle of that size

  6. I love that it comes with a mini light-up Roland. It’s nice to see an AI other than Cortana getting some recognition. Would be nice if, like the MB Cortana, he was also made available in a cheaper set. Speaking of which, I still need to get a hold of the cryotube set…lol

  7. I agree with Eric i would like to see some large covanent sets as well. I think this set looks great and i would really want one.
