As promised in last week’s video unveiling of the set, Toys R Us officially posted the Halo Mega Bloks Forward Unto Dawn 97117 set for pre-order this morning. You can place your pre-orders over at the Toys R Us website right now.

With the posting of the pre-order for the Mega Bloks Halo Forward Unto Dawn set, we’ve learned a variety of new information:

• The set number for the Halo Mega Bloks Forward Unto Dawn is 97117.
• The official release date for the Forward Unto Dawn is November 6th, 2012 (11/6/12).
• The Forward Unto Dawn consists of 2,877 pieces, the highest amount of any Halo Mega Bloks set ever–by far.
• The official price of the Forward Unto Dawn is $266.99, although it is temporarily marked down to $249.99 on the Toys R Us site. This may be a pre-order discount.
• Contrary to what I’ve seen reported elsewhere, the Forward Unto Dawn is not included in the current Toys R Us’ Buy One Get One Half Off Mega Bloks sales. As this is a bit of a special Collector’s Set, I doubt it will be included in the future sales either. 
• All toy orders of $75 or more ship free from Toys R Us’ website, so despite the gargantuan size of this set, shipping won’t cost buyers a penny!
• The box artwork has been greatly revised from the prototype box we saw a few months back, and looks much-improved now. The box art showcases the four exclusive Halo Mega Bloks figures as well as the light-up Cortana hologram.
• The Forward Unto Dawn set weighs over 11 pounds, and its box is over 2 feet long and a foot tall! This is one insane set. The actual box dimensions are 26.0 x 14.5 x 1.0, and the exact weight of the set is 11.2 pounds.

The Forward Unto Dawn 97117 is available for pre-order over at the Toys R Us website right now, and your credit card will not be charged until the set ships in November. I don’t imagine this set will be a fast sell-out with a $250 price-point–but who knows how limited this ship is, so it may be best to get your order in now if you want one!
