Halo 4 Sarah Palmer Play Arts Kai Unboxing Photos & Impressions

Today’s the day I’ve been waiting for for months–the day that my long-anticipated Square-Enix Halo 4 Play Arts Kai Sarah Palmer figure arrived in the mail! Unfortunately, it also arrived in the mail just as I’m about to go out of town for the weekend. But, well… I just couldn’t resist taking a whole bunch of quick photos of the Sarah Palmer Player Arts Kai figure being unboxed real fast…

Sarah Palmer Action Figure in Packaging Square-Enix Play Arts Kai Halo 4

The Sarah Palmer box looks much the same as the previous two Halo 4 Play Arts Kai boxes that Square-Enix has put out. That’s both good and bad. I typically love window-box packaging like this, but I feel like the Halo 4 Play Arts Kai boxes in particular make it very difficult to see the figure inside the bubble.

Text from Inside Cover of Halo 4 Play Arts Sarah Palmer Figure Even so, I still appreciate the extensive amount of text that Square-Enix manages to fit on the inside box-flap–if you didn’t already know who Sarah Palmer was or what a Railgun is, you sure will after reading the generous crash course that Square-Enix has prepared for you!

Square-Enix Halo 4 Play Arts Kai Figure Stand and Sarah Palmer FigureLike the Halo 4 Master Chief and Spartan Warrior Play Arts Kai figures I reviewed in the winter, Sarah Palmer comes with another ginormous figure stand made of plastic and metal. I don’t use these stands, but if you want one, it’s there.

Halo 4 Railgun Weapon from Square-Enix Play Arts KaiA big selling point for this Spartan IV Sarah Palmer figure is the primary weapon she comes packed with: the Railgun. As you’d expect from a $70 figure’s accessory, the Railgun looks exquisitely sculpted and detailed. We’ve gotten the Railgun before in the Halo Mega Bloks line, but the Mega Bloks Railgun is obviously pretty pathetic in comparison to this one.

Halo 4 Sarah Palmer from Spartan Ops Play Arts Kai Inside of BoxJust looking at the Sarah Palmer figure–and that’s all that I’ve done so far–she looks like another fine entry into what’s quickly becoming my choice for the best Halo figure line. While her armor isn’t as “flashy” as the Spartan Warrior’s metallic blue paint, the shiny silver paint on Sarah Palmer looks a whole lot more realistic.

Spartan IV Sarah Palmer Play Arts Kai Figure In BubbleDepending how much I like this figure once I’ve had an opportunity to play with her, Sarah Palmer could legitimately surpass the blue Spartan Warrior as my favorite Halo 4 Play Art Kai figure.

Front of Square-Enix Play Arts Kai Halo 4 Sarah Palmer BoxI’ll post a full review and photo gallery of the Square-Enix Halo 4 Sarah Palmer Play Arts Kai action figure next week, once I’ve had a chance to do more with her than take her out of the box. If you’re looking to pick up a Sarah Palmer of your own, she was sold out at Amazon earlier this week, but they have more in now for under $65 shipped.

  1. Can’t wait for the review. I want to order this along with the Halo 4 chief and the 13.5inch Carter.

  2. Ive a massive game figure collector and have every single Mcfarlane (including the canceled heroics line) and joyride figures to date. I have all the play arts except for 3 of the Reach line and I must say they are great. I have been following your site for a while now and I really enjoy your reviews. I must say you seem to have better luck than me with the play arts though.

Other than the paint I feel the reach line had the best joints and I can get them into any pose and they look good. The anniversary line was the worst IMO, loose joints, parts broke left and right and I really dont care for the ratchet joints as the legs get loose and can wobble the figure. After chief Ive left the other Spartans in the box on display. My biggest complaint is the Spartan’s helmet which can tick some Halo fans off.

But the H4 line has been great so far, still the loose joints but nothing broken and I love the blue spartan, Chief’s sculpt is a bit off but still great. Ill receive my Sarah and red spartan next week so I hope they are as good. As much as I like the McHalo figures, you cant look at them the same after buying these imports..

  3. I think I speak on behalf of most people that are a fan of your website when I say that I’d love to see a few pictures of your collection and its setup!

    • Right now it’d be a pretty dull picture! I moved to Boston in the winter and 90%+ of my Halo box is in boxes in storage right now. All I’ve got out at the moment is some of my Halo Mega Bloks, my Halo Play Arts Kai figures, and a couple McFarlane figures.

I’ll get around to putting all my figures out on display again someday…

  4. Definitely just started following your site recently too and I enjoy your reviews. Like Uriel said, would love to see your setup. I’ll hopefully be receiving my Red Spartan and Sarah Palmer this week also, I hope, would love to hear your reviews on those two. I have collected all the Khai Arts Spartans and I love all of them, but these new H4 are next level awesome!
