2013 Halo 4 Mega Bloks UNSC Pelican Revealed at New York Toy Fair!

It seems like it’s “Ask and Ye Shall Receive” at the New York Toy Fair 2013 for Halo Mega Bloks! Not only did MEGA Brands unveil my absolute most-wanted Halo Mega Bloks vehicle (the UNSC Cobra) at the show, but also my most-wanted Spartan figure (the Security Spartan). But that’s not all! It’s like Christmas in February, because one of the leaders in our poll for the most-requested Halo 4 Mega Bloks vehicles also made its grand entrance at the 2013 Toy Fair: the Halo 4 Mega Bloks UNSC Pelican Dropship!

Halo Mega Bloks Halo 4 Pelican Vehicle Halo 4 2013 Toy FairThe Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Pelican 96824 was one of the first extra-large Halo Mega Bloks sets that was released. And while it was okay for its time, it was lacking a lot of the detail and stability found in recent Halo Mega Bloks assortments. With the UNSC Pelican overhauled for the Halo 4 video game, it seemed like the time was ripe for a brand-new, redesigned Halo 4 Pelican Mega Bloks set.

I included the Halo 4 Pelican as #4 in my list of The Top 10 Halo 4 Mega Bloks Vehicles We Want in 2013, and the Pelican has consistently been one of fans’ top choices in the accompanying poll. It seems that the Halo 4 Pelican was one of MEGA Brands’ top choices as well, because it’s the only Halo 4 vehicle from that last to debut at the Toy Fair!

2013 Mega Bloks Halo 4 Pelican Dropship Toy Fair Photo This build is a total overhaul of the earlier Halo Mega Bloks Pelican, and seemingly has very little in common with that set. It looks far more game-accurate and less “toy block-y” than the old UNSC Pelican toy did.

I love the look of the cockpit hatches, and that shiny silver Spartan Warrior figure is one of the coolest Spartans MEGA Brands has come up with in a long time. In fact, all-around, I think the 2013 Halo 4 Mega Bloks Pelican may be one of the best large-size vehicles ever released in the Halo Mega Bloks line!

The UNSC Pelican Gunship is available for pre-order now over at BA Toys. Look for the Halo Mega Bloks 2013 UNSC Pelican as part of the summer 2013 series of Halo Mega Bloks sets to be released in June-August 2013.

  1. Uhmmm…. Does anybody else see the “package” booster frames on the right side of that first pic?!

  2. Anyone else think that the silver Spartan could be an official Sarah Palmer( from Spartan Ops) figure? I can see some red markings on the figure similar to her in-game armor.

  3. he messed up on the silver figure its actually commander palmer because the red marking and scout armor and there is a pathfinder spartan witch is grant and the other spartan is operator armor Probably hoya so at the end you get palmer, hoya and grant

  4. I want this so much. Release it now and make the mammoth, loch and broadsword for Christmas.

  5. The supposed blue Spartans don’t look the same color as in the game. The ‘blue’ Spartans look more grey to my mind. The would better colored in a blue similar to the blue grenadier from countdown.

  6. I love the look of this new Pelican. I am not a big fan of the guns on the front however, but they do light up and very closely match the in-game gun sounds. If this is the final version of those guns I will probably paint some black around them as to not make them all clear. As to everyone saying they want Mega Bloks to release the Mammoth, I am right there with you. However, I am not sure if it is possible. If they were to build a kit that was scaled somewhat correctly, where you could have minifigures ride in it/on/ etc… I think it would be too large to play with, and be way too costly of a set (the piece count would be outrageous and It would have to be about 3 feet long). Now if they made a scaled model like they did with Forward Unto Dawn, that would probably be more practical, but it would limit the playability in my opinion, since minifugures would really make sense with it. But, who knows, Lego has the Super Star Destroyer, and regular Star Destroyer which are 3 and 4 feet long and 400 dollars. I know I would buy a huge 500 dollar, minifig-scale Mammoth in a heartbeat though lol. Just my 2 cents

    • or they could split it into parts like the booster frame….that would be awesome and way more affordable

  7. Anyone else notice the 2 brute stalker mini figures? They look awesome!!

  8. I am so glad they have a new Pelican now, not a fan of the big duel gattling guns on the front though. What really excites me about this set is the fact that is designed to hold the Mantis set thus it will be able to hold the Warthog. I do also wish that this was the Gunship Pelican with the 90mm cannon turret like you use on the Co-op mission.

  9. I saw it! I finally saw it, it was on a target for sale, i’m surely going to buy it
