SDCC 2013: McFarlane Halo 4 Cover Art Master Chief Statue Painted!

There’s one pretty significant Halo product being displayed at the 2013 San Diego Comic Con this week that has sort of fallen through the cracks this week, and it’s a biggie! Coming from McFarlane Toys in late 2013/early 2014, it’s a high-end statue of the cover artwork from the Halo 4 video game, featuring the Master Chief!

McFarlane Halo 4 Master Chief Cover Statue at SDCC 2013Because McFarlane Toys isn’t exhibiting at San Diego Comic Con 2013 (again), I had thought that McFarlane Toys wasn’t going to have any Halo presence at the show. Turns out that that isn’t quite right, as we have the gorgeous Todd McFarlane sculpted Halo 4 statue being shown off in fully painted form for the very first time! The McFarlane Master Chief Halo 4 Statue is being displayed in the Hyatt Xbox Lounge at SDCC 2013 all this week and weekend.

We previously saw Todd McFarlane tweet out unpainted photos of this sculpture on his Twitter, so it’s not a “big reveal” or anything here at the show–it sure is nice to get to see this in painted form, however! This statue will certainly be priced at $200-$300+, but considering that 2012’s McFarlane Halo Forward Unto Dawn statue now sells for about $570-$700 on ebay, that’s not a terrible retail price to pay to get the Halo 4 Master Chief statue to begin with.

McFarlane Halo 4 Cover Art Master Chief Statue Unpainted Prototype There are no additional details regarding the release date or price of the new McFarlane Halo statue being given out at Comic-Con right now, so we’re likely going to have to wait until McFarlane Toys decides to share that info with us on their official website before we have any of the specific regarding this upcoming Halo 4 Cover Master Chief statue. I would guess that we’ll get that information in the fall, when this statue is most likely scheduled to be put up for order.

Thanks to Sam who wrote in to give me the heads-up on this Halo 4 Cover Artwork statue, which I had not heard a peep about from anywhere else! What do you think, Halo fans? Are you psyched for a new high-end, expensive Master Chief statue, or are you satisfied with the variety of sub-$100 Halo merchandise available?

  1. Anyone that is interested in the new hornet its already in sale at target (online and in stores!!)

  2. Cool looking statue. Definitely an easy pass, but it does look pretty cool. I’m disappointed to find out that McFarlane didn’t show off ANY Halo 4 toys at SDCC. Considering the completely BS delay for this next wave, you would think that they would would to increase interest in the line by showing off at a con like SDCC. I kinda want to get the Didact, but with nothing new confirmed for the line, I’m not sure I’m even going to bother getting him. There’s no point in buying a toyline that is clearly not being supported by the company making it, or rather not making it as of these days…

  3. I actually was caught off guard when I saw this at the GameStop expo! I’m tight on money, with everything else coming out, but was absolutely sold on this! It is beyond words seeing it in person. What a piece!!
