Halo Mega Bloks Orbital Banshee Blitz In Progress Build Photos!

I’ve been concentrating on a side project I’ve been working on this week (Hint: It has to do with World of Warcraft Mega Bloks), but that doesn’t mean that I haven’t been making time to do some Halo Mega Bloks building as well! Over the weekend I finally found the Halo Mega Bloks Orbital Banshee Blitz 97010 at retail. I wasn’t sure how much I liked the set from the photos I’d seen online, but once I had the box in my hands, temptation was too great and I left the store with yet another new Fall 2012 Halo Mega Bloks set…

I won’t have time to crank out a full, in-depth review of the Orbital Banshee Blitz set until late this week or this weekend, but I wanted to share some photos of the build so that collectors could get a good idea of exactly what’s inside the box, and whether or not this set is for them! Follow along and you can see a near step-by-step assembly of the new Orbital Banshee…

There’s actually more parts than this included in the set–quite a few pieces for a set that costs less than $25! The clear pieces you see in the parts list are part of a flight stand you can build for the Orbital Banshee to “levitate” on.

…All that’s missing is the canopy! You’ll have to wait a few days to see photos of the completed Orbital Banshee when I post my full review.

Here’s one (and only one) shot of a partially-built UNSC Turret from the set. I’ll talk about it in-depth in the review, but let me state outright now that I had no idea how many pieces the UNSC Turret would be comprised of, and just how great it was going to be…

There are two Halo Mega Bloks figures included in this set: an orange Spartan EVA and a silver Covenant Elite Pilot. The EVA is a super-vibrant orange and looks positively killer (if you like orange–and I do), whereas the Covenant Elite Pilot looks white on the box but is actually more of a silver. The Elite has an extra head so you can “Customize!” him into an Elite Combat figure, though if you do so, you won’t have a pilot for the ship any more.
