Halo Mega Bloks 2015 Sets Revealed! Cryotube Spartans!

I genuinely did not expect any fresh Halo Mega Bloks news or photos to turn up for quite a while still, and I definitely was not expecting the first information and photos of Halo Mega Bloks 2015 sets to appear in the first half of 2014. But after last month’s Halo Mega BloksFest 2014 UK event, TheSSMotion has revealed the first three all-new 2015 Halo Mega Bloks sets for the world to see! In 2015, we’ll see the debut of metallic Cryogenic Tubes containing all-new (and very cool) Halo Mega Bloks Spartan figures!

I fully expected the Halo Mega Bloks Metallic ODST Drop Pods assortment to continue into next year, but it looks very likely now that the much-loved little drop pods are going to be replaced by this new line of cheap, single-figure sets: the Halo Mega Bloks Cryo Tube sets!

Thanks to TheSSMotion, we know the first three sets that will be included in this 2015 Halo Mega Bloks Cryotube Spartans series:

  • Metallic Green Cryotube with Green Spartan Hazop (Halo Reach) & Energy Sword
  • Metallic Blue Cryotube with Blue Oceanic Spartan (Halo 4) & SAW Machine Gun
  • Metallic Red Cryo Tube with Red Spartan Aviator (Halo 4) & Grenade Launcher

It seems sort of strange to me to have multicolored UNSC cryogenic chambers (especially super-bright ones like the metallic red cryo tube), but I still think that these are a very fun and interesting way to get some unique new Halo Mega Bloks Spartan figures into circulation.

My favorite of the three revealed Halo Mega Bloks Cryotube sets for 2015 is probably the green Cryogenic Tube with Green Halo Reach Hazop Spartan. Halo Reach was a much better game than Halo 4 (in my opinion), and I love the knife on the upper torso of the Halo Reach Spartan HAZOP armor.

I really want to love the Spartan Oceanic armor, but the Oceanic helmet really throws me for a loop. It just looks peculiar to me, making it one of my least-favorite Spartan armors. Luckily, the Aviator Spartan armor permutations is one of my favorites from Halo 4!

The Halo Mega Bloks Cryo Tube sets are part of the Halo Mega Bloks Spring 2015 wave of sets, and shouldn’t be expected to hit stores until the end of 2014/start of 2015.   3. These spartans are all alright. The green one is the coolest, although the visor is ugly.

    Also, is there any word on the release date of the Summer 2014 sets? It seems that the last update on those was when they were announced in February.

  4. Honestly I’m not really feeling these new super poseable spartans. I understand the want to make interchangeable armor, etc but it the compromises made to achieve that make them look…..ugly :0
