Halo ODST Drop Pod McFarlane Toys Final Prototype & Boxed Photos!

Over on the official McFarlane Toys website this week, photographs of the final prototype ODST Drop Pod with The Rookie have finally been posted! As we’ve come to expect from McFarlane Toys, the ODST Drop Pod is gorgeously sculpted and detailed (not to mention absolutely enormous!).

McFarlane Halo ODST Drop Pod Deployed Toy 2012 Here we can see the articulated, telescoping grag shut fully-extended as the ODST Drop Pod has plummeted to the ground. The clamps have already opened up!

McFarlane Halo ODST Drop Pod Opened with The Rookie FigureHere we see the ODST Drop Pod with the hatch blown open, having successfully landed on the battlefield. Who’s that peering out at us from the inside? Why, it’s The Rookie, star of Halo ODST! There are handlebars inside of the Drop Pod for The Rookie to hold onto, as well as two weapons racks so that the ODST inside can explode into action as soon as he lands.

It’s tough to see in the packaged photo, but The Rookie comes with two Halo weapons that we exclusive see in the “Halo ODST” video game: the silenced Magnum and the suppressed SMG!

Halo ODST Drop Pod McFarlane Toys Packaged Box 2012That is one *HUGE* Box!! It’ll be tough to say until we see this in person, but I believe this box is going to surpass the Warthog released in 2010 to become the largest boxed Halo item every released by McFarlane Toys!

This deluxe boxed set is part of the new Halo Universe line and is one of the most ambitious Halo toys ever released in the 6″ scale. It is expected to be priced at $40-$45 in retail stores and should be available at most major retailers. The Halo ODST Drop Pod with The Rookie action figure is set to be released in August 2012, and you can pre-order it right now from BigBadToyStore!
