After reporting on the Snowbound Rockethog yesterday, I wasn’t expecting any more surprise Halo Mega Bloks Snowbound sets to turn up for a while, but it seems MEGA Brands slipped one past me again! Another new addition to the Target-exclusive Snowbound theme has been spotted–this time, the Halo Mega Bloks Versus: Snowbound Highbase 97069 set…

97069 is another set based off the immensely-popular Halo 3 Snowbound map. The Highbase Covenant tower is about a foot tall, and looks absolutely HUGE and imposing! This is definitely one of the largest structures MEGA Brands has released in the Halo Mega Bloks line, and it’s definitely a big (no pun intended) surprise to get something so completely unique and different as an exclusive, whereas we’re used to getting repainted and rereleased vehicles like the Covert Ops Wolverine and the Covenant Locust Attack instead.

Along with the enormous Highbase, you also get an Arctic Mongoose (I’m in love) and two Halo Mega Bloks figures: a red Spartan EVA and a blue Spartan EOD. Both Spartans have the extremely cool snowy deco on their lower bodies, the same as the ones in the Snowbound Combat Unit 97065. Other accessories include a flag, a Mauler, and a Spiker.

The rumored price-tag on this Target exclusive Halo Mega Bloks set is around $35, but with a piece count of 438 pieces, it may end up being closer to $45 when it actually hits stores. I’m hoping that the price will be closer to the rumored $35, as I feel like this set with just two Spartan figures and a tower might be a tough sell at a price-point above that.
